Summary –
Brant, acting as Quantum Experts in the TCC, was engaged by the defendants’ solicitors. The Client had allegedly designed a basement that had failed, allowing water ingress and damaging the building. The cost to rectify the damage being the value of the claim.
Brant’s instructions were to produce its own valuation of the alleged works, hold a meeting with the Claimant’s Quantum Expert, produce a joint statement, and then produce a CPR Part 35 complaint report for the litigation.
Brant considered the facts subjectively, using its technical skill to value the works and advised its instructing Solicitor of its opinion of the true value which assisted in bringing about a favourable settlement.
